Blues Music Awards Tickets
Great seats remain for the Blues Music Awards set for the Grand Casino Event Center in Tunica, Mississippi on Thursday May 8. Tickets are $75 and may be obtained on our website or calling the office 901.527,2583. There are 25 awards and at least that many separate performances. Ya wanna see Bobby Rush “raw” or Tad Robinson and Darrell Nulisch with the entire Severn Records studio musicians? Maybe the Muddy Waters band with John Nemeth and Kenny Wayne Shepherd or Lurrie Bell and Nappy Brown backed by Nick Moss & the Flip Tops? Perhaps you would not mind seeing The Jimmy Reed Highway project with Omar Dykes, Jimmie Vaughan and Kim Wilson? Just a taste of what you will see and hear that night. As always, the night begins with a pre-party at 5:30pm featuring the 2008 International Blues Challenge winners Lionel Young and Trampled Under Foot. It starts early and goes late. And a whole weekend more of Blues is scheduled for Friday and Saturday in the Delta. Welcome Marc Taylor
The Blues Foundation has added a new employee—Marc Taylor. She will be the third full-time person on the staff. Yeah!! This friendly redhead is well-known to all who attend the International Blues Challenge and Blues Music Awards inasmuch as she has been traveling from the Portland, Oregon area to help us in recent years. She was most recently the secretary for the Cascade Blues Association. She arrived on April 10 and is in the process of “adjusting” to Memphis and life at The Blues Foundation. Welcome Marc. |
